The Story

A Smart Home You Can Walk Through

Most people have never experienced a real smart home, only heard about one. So we built the world's first home automation trailer: a complete, fully functioning smart home on wheels that we bring to home and cottage shows across Ontario.

Everything inside is real and running on the same Control4 system we install in your home. Dim the lights, start the theatre, check the cameras, and feel the difference in person. It is the easiest way to understand what your home has been missing.

What's Inside

Everything In A Real Home, On Wheels

Tap any feature to see it. Every one of these is live inside the trailer, and every one can live in your home.

Control4 touchscreen and keypads inside the AVAS trailer

100% Control4 Integrated

Every light, lock, camera, speaker, and screen in the trailer runs on one Control4 system. One app, one keypad, one tap. It is the same smart home automation platform we install in your home, fully integrated, with nothing bolted on after.

Lux By Control4 Keypads

The trailer showcases Lux by Control4, the newest line of designer keypads. Premium metal faceplates, laser-engraved buttons, and a built-in ambient light sensor so your lighting control responds to the room around it.

Warm circadian ambient lighting inside the AVAS automation trailer

Circadian Lighting

The lighting shifts colour temperature through the day the way natural daylight does: cooler and brighter to keep you alert, warmer in the evening to help you wind down. It is built around your circadian rhythm, which research links to better sleep, mood, and focus. See more on lighting control.

Home theatre with big screen and built-in seating inside the AVAS trailer

Home Theatre

A true cinema in a trailer: a big screen, hidden in-wall speakers, and acoustically treated walls, all dimmed, lowered, and started with one press. The same approach we bring to a home theatre in your house.

Built-In Security & Deterrence

Security is built in, not added on. AI cameras with active deterrence are designed to stop trouble before it happens, not just record it afterward, and everything is viewable and armable from the same system. More on home security.

Whole-Home & Outdoor Audio

Music everywhere, inside and out. Hidden in-wall speakers and rock-shaped landscape speakers show how your multi-room audio can disappear into any space while filling it perfectly.

Questions

The Trailer, Explained

What is the AVAS home automation trailer?

The AVAS home automation trailer is the world's first fully functioning smart home built into a trailer, a mobile showroom on wheels. Instead of trying to picture what smart home automation feels like from a brochure, you can walk inside a complete, working Control4 home and use it yourself: dim the lights, start the home theatre, check the security cameras, and hear the audio fill the space. Everything inside runs on the same Control4 platform we install in real homes, so nothing is staged or simulated. AVAS Automation built the trailer so homeowners across Ontario, from Toronto and Oakville to Muskoka and Blue Mountain, can experience a true smart home in person before deciding what they want in their own. It is the clearest, fastest way to understand the difference between a few smart gadgets and a home that genuinely works as one.

What can I see inside the trailer?

Everything inside is real and running on one Control4 system. There is a full home theatre with a big screen, hidden in-wall speakers, and acoustically treated walls; Lux by Control4 designer keypads with built-in ambient light sensors; and circadian lighting that shifts colour temperature through the day to support your sleep and wellbeing. You will also see AI security cameras with active deterrence, smart climate and access control, and whole-home and outdoor audio, including rock-shaped landscape speakers that disappear into a garden. The point is to show these systems working together, not as separate gadgets, so you can feel how one tap can dim the lights, lower the shades, arm the cameras, and start a movie. It is a complete, integrated smart home, simply built on wheels so we can bring it to you.

What is circadian lighting, and why is it in the trailer?

Circadian lighting, sometimes called human-centric lighting, is lighting that changes its colour temperature and brightness throughout the day to match natural daylight. Cooler, brighter light during the day helps keep you alert and focused, while warmer, softer light in the evening helps your body wind down for sleep. This supports your circadian rhythm, the internal clock that governs your sleep-wake cycle, and research has linked well-designed circadian lighting to better sleep quality, mood, and concentration. We feature it in the trailer because it is one of the most genuinely beneficial things smart lighting can do, and it is easy to miss until you experience it in person. In your home, AVAS programs it to run automatically through Control4, so your lighting quietly supports your health without you ever having to think about it.

What are Lux by Control4 keypads?

Lux by Control4 is the newest line of designer lighting keypads from Control4, and the trailer showcases them throughout. They are built to look as good as they work: premium metal faceplates in a range of finishes, clean laser-engraved button labels, and smooth dimming for modern LED lighting. Each keypad also includes a built-in ambient light sensor, which helps your lighting respond intelligently to the natural light already in the room. Because they run on Control4, a single keypad can control far more than the lights in one space, it can trigger whole scenes like Good Night or Movie Time across the entire home with one press. They are a good example of how AVAS pairs serious, reliable technology with finishes that genuinely belong in a high-end home.

Where can I see the trailer, and how do I book a tour?

The trailer travels to home shows, cottage shows, and events across Ontario throughout the year, so the lineup changes seasonally. The best way to catch it is to contact AVAS Automation and we will tell you where it will be next. If you would rather not wait, you can book a free in-home assessment instead, and we will bring our expertise and recommendations directly to your home, with the same honesty and no sales pressure. We serve Toronto, Oakville, Burlington, Mississauga, and seasonal properties in Muskoka and Blue Mountain. Either way, whether you step inside the trailer or we come to you, it is the easiest way to finally see what your home has been missing.
