It half works. Nobody answers.

Sound familiar? This is where most of our Control4 clients start.

Your Control4 stopped working.

The app freezes, a room goes quiet, the remote does nothing. Three quick checks first. Still stuck? We repair it.

Your installer stopped answering.

Calls go to voicemail while the system keeps aging. AVAS Automation takes over Control4 systems other installers left behind.

You bought the house, not the logins.

The seller kept the accounts and nobody left a manual. We start with a free look at what is there.

Not a Control4 system? AVAS Automation also replaces other brands' systems, with Control4 or whatever you prefer.

How AVAS Automation fixes it

Same rack. Different standard.

The same rack, before and after AVAS Automation took over. Every device mounted, every cable labelled and written down.

Many racks. One standard.

A few of the systems AVAS Automation has taken over: what we walk into, and what we leave behind.

What we walk into

A wall of loose cables, power bars and boxes hanging in a basement corner
A knot of blue and green network cables with no labels
Bundles of cable hanging loose in an unfinished closet
An equipment rack with orange and blue cables hanging loose down the side
Devices and loose wiring piled on a wire shelf

What we leave behind

A finished equipment rack with blue lights and neat front panels
Patch cables tied in neat runs across a rack
Blue patch cables in tidy rows across a network switch
A finished rack inside a framed closet with labelled patch panels

A crew dug through the lines.

AVAS Automation repaired the low voltage lines a digging crew cut at a client's home, with waterproof splices that hold up underground.

  • Found the cut lines in the open trench
  • Spliced and sealed every wire with waterproof connectors

Questions? Straight answers.

What owners of an existing Control4 system ask us most.

My installer stopped answering. Can you take over my Control4 system?

AVAS Automation can usually take over a Control4 system another installer set up or left behind. We start with a free assessment, back up what is there, fix what is broken, label every connection and tell you plainly what is aging. We also replace other brands' systems, with Control4 or what you prefer.

Ask us: (416) 800-6714
Why is my Control4 not working? What should I check first?

When a Control4 smart home stops working, AVAS Automation suggests three quick checks. Is the controller powered, with its lights on? Are your internet and WiFi up? Is your phone on the home network? Lights, keypads and whole home audio keep working without the internet, so if they fail too, call us.

Ask us: (416) 800-6714
I bought a house with Control4. Where do I start?

If your new home has Control4, AVAS Automation suggests asking the seller for the logins and accounts, any project file and an equipment list first. Then we do a free assessment of what is installed, what works and what is missing, and give you a plain plan to keep, update or replace.

Ask us: (416) 800-6714
How much does a Control4 repair or takeover cost?

AVAS Automation quotes each repair or takeover after a free assessment, because the cost depends on the age of the controller, any missing or failing equipment, the state of the rack and network, and whether the original project file exists. You get a plain written plan before any work starts.

Ask us: (416) 800-6714
Do I have to replace my equipment?

AVAS Automation does not replace equipment by default. We sort what you have into keep, update or replace, and show you the reason for each before any work starts. Equipment ages like any electronics, so we tell you honestly what is near the end of its life and what can stay.

Ask us: (416) 800-6714
Is Control4 obsolete, and what are its disadvantages?

No, Control4 is not obsolete: it is still sold and supported through certified dealers like AVAS Automation. Its real downsides are that equipment ages like any electronics, remote features need the internet, and the system is only as good as who installs and services it. That is why takeovers exist.
